DAV Chapter 3 "Heart of Texas"
The United States Air Force's official birthday is September 18. This date marks the establishment of the Air Force as a separate branch of the U.S. military by President Harry Truman when he signed the National Security Act in 1947.
There are nearly 16 million veterans as of 2023 in the U.S. Each one has been affected by their service. DAV helps veterans of every generation address their challenges and achieve personal victories, great and small, to better thrive in civilian life.
Every year on Nov. 10, Marine Corps veterans receive emails, calls and Facebook messages wishing them a happy birthday. The service was founded on November 10, 1775, in Philadelphia.
The United States Navy's birthday is celebrated annually on October 13 to commemorate the Continental Navy's establishment on that day in 1775 during the American Revolution. This date marks the original legislation that created the naval force for the nascent United States, growing from just two ships to the modern Navy it is today.
